A Case of a Coexisting Carcinosarcoma Ex Pleomorphic Adenoma With Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in the Parotid Gland

Carcinosarcoma ex pleomorphic adenoma is a rare malignant neoplasm, with most cases reported in the parotid gland. We herein report case of 75-year-old male referred to our hospital long-standing right lesion that was treated an outside by superficial parotidectomy. The patient painful, rapidly enlarging mass following excision. Histopathological examination showed proliferation epithelial and mesenchymal elements solid sheet Langerhans cells admixed eosinophils. were reactive CD1a BRAF; hence, diagnosis carcinosarcoma cell histiocytosis given. Complete clinical radiographic workup no other organ involvement. underwent total parotidectomy adjuvant chemoradiation; however, tumor progressed lung metastasis. first concurrent associated adenoma.
